Rundum Artist-Run Space

Parmsoni esimesel isikunäitusel esitletavad joonistused on visuaalsed meenutused laevadel veedetud ajast Antarktika vetes. Parmson näitab oma joonistusi valguskastides, millele on kontrastiks seatud monumentaalne seinajoonistus.
Anastasia Parmsoni töid on varem eksponeeritud Strasbourgis, Hobartis ja Brooklynis.

Näitus on avatud ainult kolmel päeval, 15.–18. novembrini kell 12–18.

On Thursday, the 14th of November at 6 p.m. Anastasia Parmson (1985) opens her first solo exhibition at the Rundum Rehearsal Space (Okasroosikese Castle, 19 Uus Street), where she shows her latest drawings from the series Ship Life. On the same evening at 7 p.m. an artist-talk will be held that discusses the relationship between art and nature and reflects on the seas of the world.

In 2009 Parmson earned her master’s degree in Visual Arts at the University of  Strasbourg, but decided to travel to the other side of the world after her studies. The last four years she has been on land, at sea and on both sides ,lived in Australia, New Zealand and Fiji. She spent part of this time on the board of the conservation organization „Sea Shepherd”, where she among other things, worked in the helicopter team. The drawings in her first solo exhibition are visual memories of the time spent on ships in the Antarctic waters. She presents the drawings in light boxes set in contrast to a monumental drawing on the wall.

Anastasia Parmson’s work has been previously exhibited in Strasbourg, Hobart and Brooklyn.

The exhibition is only open for  three days, 15th-18th of November 2013, from 12-18 p.m.
